The MAP-C2 Agar Dispenser (see MAP-C2 Agar Dispenser System) makes use of four 2 mL syringes, valves and special thermally insulated dispensing tips to handle hot, viscous agar solutions.  Titertek’s chemical and heat resistant materials, high torque direct syringe drives and unique double-skinned Teflon® dispensing tips makes this application possible.

We are now pleased to announce an autoclavable version of the 4x2mL Agar Syringe Package (listed as part number 0952211).  The key elements in this new package are a valve with a cone tension relief screw that prevents cone distortion during autoclaving, and annealed tips that hold their shape during autoclaving. 

The photograph shows a syringe, a valve (with tension relief screw visible) and a dispensing tip separated and ready to be autoclaved at 121°C for 20 minutes.  Not shown is the autoclavable inlet line.
